Instructions for authors

CognitivaTech: Ingeniería de Software Inteligente y Sistemas Adaptativos (CISISA) accepts various types of articles, including research articles, original reports, and literature reviews, covering topics from basic concepts to practical applications in the field of education. To be considered for publication, manuscripts must be aligned with the journal's aims and scope.

The Editor conducts a preliminary review to assess the manuscript’s suitability, language quality, clarity of figures, and to detect possible cases of plagiarism.

Manuscript Submission

Articles must be submitted using the official Word template available on the journal's platform. Only original works that have not been previously published or are under consideration elsewhere will be accepted.

All manuscripts are subject to a double-blind peer review process and must be submitted exclusively through the Open Journal Systems (OJS).

Submission Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be in DOC or DOCX format and follow the official template.
  • Authorship contribution statement (downloadable from the platform).
  • Letter of originality of the article.
  • Informed consent (when applicable).

Types of Articles

Research Articles
Must present significant advances in the educational field.
Length: between 3000 and 6500 words.
Structure: abstract, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion.

Review Articles
Provide interdisciplinary syntheses and propose new research directions.
Length: between 3500 and 7500 words.

  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Abstract: size 11
  • Main text (introduction, methodology, results, discussion, conclusions): size 12
  • References: size 11

Abstract

A concise and clear abstract is required, including objectives, main findings, and conclusions. It must be self-contained and not dependent on the main text. Abbreviations should be defined upon first use.

Keywords

After the abstract, authors must include 3 to 4 keywords. Avoid overly general terms or compound concepts. These keywords facilitate indexing and retrieval.

Article Structure

Manuscripts should be organized into clearly defined sections with specific headings. Subsections must have concise titles and proper alignment.

Referencing Style

References must follow the APA 7th edition guidelines.

  • In-text citations: author’s last name and year of publication.
  • Reference list: complete and properly formatted, including authors, titles, sources, and dates.

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables must comply with the formatting guidelines provided in the official DOCX template.

Manuscript Revision

When a manuscript is returned for revisions, authors must submit:

  • A revised version of the manuscript.
  • A separate document detailing responses to reviewers’ comments and specifying all modifications made.

Final Format Requirements

  • Title and abstract must follow the journal template.
  • Keywords: 3 to 4.
  • Length:
    • Research articles: 3000–6500 words.
    • Review articles: 3500–7500 words.
      (Excluding abstract and references)
  • References must be formatted according to scientific journal standards.
